Saloni Sharma, PhD joined Modeling Nature
Saloni Sharma has recently joined Modeling Nature as a postdoctoral fellow, thanks to the QUALIFICA program of the Junta de Andalucía. She will analyze the evolution of phenotypic plasticity in plants using genetic and genomic tools with her advisor, Professor Francisco Perfectti, in the Department of Genetics at the University of Granada.
Her main interest is to explore plant biology and development, how plants develop certain desired traits, identify the genes responsible for those particular traits, how plants respond to abiotic and biotic stresses, and the functional role of phytochemicals.
After her PhD, she has worked as a research associate for the last two years at the National Institute of Agri-Food Biotechnology, India. During her PhD and subsequent research, she gained expertise in plant genetics, genomics, plant breeding, and plant physiology.
D. from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. Before his Ph.D., he did a four-year research stay at Palampur Agricultural University, H.P. (India).
